May 21: Fun Day for Bereaved Youth

Free fun and learning day for bereaved youth ages 8-16 … and their parents!Fun Day for Bereaved Youth

Coping with the death of a friend or family member is hard at any age, and for kids it can be an especially confusing and difficult experience. Exploring grief and loss and the company of bereaved peers helps young people embark on the grief journey with confidence and the understanding that they are not alone.

On Sunday, May 21, Mount Evans Hospice will offer a special experience for youth ages 8-16 who have lost a loved one in the last three years. The afternoon will include fun activities for the kids and a separate support group for parents and guardians. We’ll finish the afternoon by getting together to share snacks and enjoy kids vs. adults kickball game at Rocky Mountain Academy next door. Wear appropriate sneakers or tennis shoes! Grief counselors from Mount Evans will oversee the program, which will take place from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Mount Evans offices, 3081 Bergen Peak Dr., Evergreen.

There is no charge for this program. For more information and to register, call Mount Evans at 303-674-6400 or email Heather Aberg at HAberg@MountEvans.org or Jen Pearson at JPearson@MountEvans.org.
