Free fun and learning day for bereaved youth ages 8-16 … and their parents!
Coping with the death of a friend or family member is hard at any age, and for kids it can be an especially confusing and difficult experience. Exploring grief and loss and the company of bereaved peers helps young people embark on the grief journey with confidence and the understanding that they are not alone.
On Sunday, March 19, Mount Evans Hospice will offer a special experience for youth ages 8-16 who have lost a loved one in the last three years. The afternoon will include fun activities for the kids and a separate support group for parents and guardians. All participants will get together for a rousing kickball game at the end of the day – kids against grown-ups! Grief counselors from Mount Evans will oversee the program, which will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Mount Evans offices, 3081 Bergen Peak Dr., Evergreen.
There is no charge for this program. For more information and to register, call Mount Evans at 303-674-6400 or email HAberg@MountEvans.org.
