Caregiver Support

Caregiver Survival Skills

A free educational series presented by the Mountain Caregivers Resource Group. Sessions are held at the Evergreen Fire and Rescue Administration Building, 1802 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen. Reservations are recommended, for more information or to RSVP, call 303-674-6400.

UNDERSTANDING ALZHEIMER’S AND DEMENTIA
This course explores risk factors and stages of the disease and provides an understanding of how Alzheimer’s affects the brain. Participants will also learn about resources, research and FDA-approved treatments.

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES
Learn how to approach some of the most difficult conversations ranging from going to see a doctor, deciding when it’s necessary to stop driving and making legal and financial plans.Tuesday,

Caregiver SupportCaring for the Caregiver – Monthly Support Group

Mount Evans offers a free monthly support group called “Caring for the Caregiver.” The group, which is facilitated by Mount Evans social workers and counselors, helps participants cope with the emotional as well as practical aspects of caregiving for ill, disabled, or elderly loved ones.

Meets: The second Monday of each month from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group

Mount Evans offers a support group for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. The free program is designed to help caregivers cope with emotional as well as practical aspects of the disease. Meetings are held at Mount Evans.

Meets: The third Monday of each month from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
